This Program Package contains our "My First 5K" ebook as listed on Amazon, plus an online walkthrough and interactive quiz to help you retain all materials! This program was developed by Dr. Fulco using a combination of research and is primarily inspired by Hal Higdon, Chris Johnson, PT, and Dr. Thomas "Andy" Anderson Smith. This program is intended for those interested in running their first 5K or who may be deconditioned from their typical running schedule. This program incorporates various types of workouts, mainly consisting of resistance (strength) training to strengthen muscles used in running and prevent injury and base running (running at your desired same pace for the entire distance) to build aerobic capacity. A typical 5K running program will gradually increase participants' time and distance to build up to running the entire 5k length without stopping. It's important to note that while a 5K running program can be a great way to improve fitness and achieve a personal goal, it's essential to start slowly and listen to your body to avoid injury. It's also recommended to consult with a healthcare provider before starting any new exercise program.
